Meet John Ropp

 

John C. Ropp III, MD

Dr. John Ropp III, MD is a board certified family medicine physician in Hartsville, South Carolina who is affiliated with Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Ropp has over 20 years experience providing quality primary care to patients, representing physicians through organized medicine, and leading statewide efforts to develop accessible advance care planning (ACP) for patients and their families.

He graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia in 2001 and his specialties include Family Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

He was awarded the 2017 South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) Educator of the Year Award in recognition of his efforts to advance medical education in South Carolina.

Dr. Ropp is a founding member and the immediate past Chair of the South Carolina Coalition for the Care of the Seriously Ill (SCCSI) and is currently serving as the 2021-22 president of the SCMA.
