Meet Laurie Lybrand

 

Laurie Lybrand-Busby, LMSW, APHSW-C

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE CHAIR

Laurie Lybrand-Busby, LMSW, APHSW-C has a master’s degree in social work from University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s from Winthrop University.  She is a member of CAPC, Center to Advance Palliative Care and SWHPN, Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care network.

Laurie has been with Roper Saint Francis Healthcare since 1997.  She is currently the Manager of Operations for Post Acute Care. She has served in a variety of roles in the healthcare system including: Program Manager for Palliative Care, Palliative Care Social Worker, CyberKnife Program Coordinator, Case Manager and Discharge Planner.

Laurie has been involved with the care of the seriously ill for more than 20 years, teaching Advance Care Planning classes and promoting the education of patients and families to have conversations about wishes for their healthcare and end of life.  Laurie served on the South Carolina Palliative Care and Quality of Life Study Committee in 2019.  She is currently the Committee Chair for the technology group with the SCCSI.
