Study compares costs for end-of-life care within palliative care units to other places

(Via Journal of Pain and Symptom Management) For the last hospital admission of peoples’ lives, do other hospital settings cost more or less? The study concludes that “cost is significantly lower when the patients are treated by a PCU during their last hospital stay when they pass away.” Read the study here.
